About Mel
What do you get if you cross a radiographer with a hypnotherapist?
Believe it or not, this is one of the questions I've been asked the most! Where did this all come from?
I bring more than 25 years of clinical experience in the health industry to my work as a Hypnotherapist. Across roles as a dental assistant, Healthy Lifestyle Coordinator/gym coach and radiographer, I have supported people through many different moments in their health journey, seeing how past experiences can shape the way someone feels in a dental chair, how hard it can be to change long-held habits, and how overwhelming medical appointments can feel when the mind and body are already on high alert.
I have worked with thousands of patients for MRI scans and have seen so many immediately walk straight back out that door, to be sent back to their doctor for sedation, writing a story in their mind that they are “claustrophobic”. This is my favourite patient. If this is you, I love to sit with you, listening to what you are feeling, and helping you find simple ways to steady your body and regain a sense of control. When you realise you can, in fact, get through the scan, it is like watching you rewrite the ending to a story you thought was already decided.
As appointment times became shorter, I had less time to give these patients the support they needed, and more patients feeling rushed. With some scans now requiring breathing instructions, patients who had always relied on sedation were being told they can’t have it for their next scan, leading to fear and panic. I looked into hypnotherapy as a way to learn practical, effective strategies I could use to help these patients before their scan. What began as a way to better support my patients quickly opened up a whole new world for me.
The more I learned, the more I saw what was possible. After seeing powerful changes with my early clients, I knew I had to lean further into this work. I am now a fully certified, internationally registered Hypnotherapist, trained to support clients to identify and release unconscious patterns that may be keeping them stuck, whether that shows up as anxiety, fear, habits, or a sense of not feeling fully in control.
I absolutely love what I do. My approach is calm, practical, and compassionate, with a focus on helping you feel heard, supported, and capable of real change. I would love the chance to chat with you and explore how we can work together to shift you from limiting patterns toward greater calm, confidence, and Serenity.
